History
History
Since our founding date in 2016, Mammoth Construction has been trusted by our clients to deliver proven and trusted results. Below is a brief timeline of our company history.
2016
Mammoth is Born
The brainchild of Jason Marlow and Joe Gaw is incorporated in a dirt floor barn outside of Greenfield, Indiana with nothing more than a couple of secondhand desks around a woodburning stove as a part-time venture on a cold October day.
2017
Private Commercial Work Explodes
The landing of a few commercial projects with major national brands Kroger, Menards, and Marriott Hotels lead to a major expansion of our field from just the founders to approximately 65 skilled tradesmen. What started as a second job for both founders would become their full-time focus by year-end.
2018
One Year - 59 Projects
We began to tackle public projects at as part of our ever-expanding portfolio of work. Purdue University, Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), Ivy Tech, Lafayette Career Academy, the Indianapolis Police Department, Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), and a number of Hoosier high schools, Hamilton Southeastern High School amongst them, became customers.
This new stream of work was in addition to completing commercial projects for AMTRAK, Duke Energy, Sandor Development, Crew Carwash, and Kirby Risk to name a few.
This was also the year we began work in the medical sector with the construction of a new hospital for Hancock Regional Health, as well as work for Cardon & Associates Senior Living Communities and Davita Dialysis.
Industrial work was on the table too. Projects at pharmaceutical manufacturer Covance Laboratories, food processing plants for Kroger Bakery and Harlan Bakery, and lead acid battery recycling plant Quemetco are a few examples.
2019
Feelin' Good
Our involvement with the new IU Cancer Center in Carmel and the St. Vincent Cancer Center in Indianapolis was both and expansion of our customer base and personally gratifying to be a part of adding much needed health care infrastructure to our central Indiana community to combat and treat, an affliction that effects all of us in one way or another, cancer.
Mammoth also built its first library in 2019. The newly constructed Brightwood Library on North Sherman Drive in Indianapolis was constructed on the site of an old liquor store as part of a community revitalization effort by the city of Indianapolis. We are very proud of our involvement in this project.
We also added a couple of additional parks and recreation jobs to our resume by completing work at O’Bannon Woods State Park and building Camp Kithwenund, a Boy Scout camp in northern Indiana.
’19 saw Mammoth complete our second mini storage facility to date on 146th Street in Noblesville.
2020
Turmoil For All
A year that will forever be marked by pandemic, uncertainty, and fear was challenging to say the least, but we never stopped working.
Completed our largest project to date, an expansion of the Indianapolis Regional Airport in Mt. Comfort.
Renovation work was competed for Wayne Township Schools of Ben Davis and Chapel Hill and Carmel Clay High School as well.
The completion of the Greencastle Aquatic Center was a nice addition to previous Indiana community pool/aquatic center work we had completed in the previous year with the city of Lebanon at their Abner Longley Park Splash Pad and the city of Greenfield on their Riley Park Pool project.
The commercial remodel design and buildout of Peacock Chiropractic’s lobby in Fishers was a welcome addition to the portfolio.
2021
From Work to Play
Completing our second fire station project for the city of Indianapolis at IFD #35 to go along with IFD #54 completed the previous year, felt good to assist in helping those that help protect us.
Indiana school projects headlined 2021. Leading a large bus drive expansion project for Lawrence Schools at Amy Beverland Elementary was a very nice highlight. As was headlining the new construction of a concession facility and parking lot for the Yorktown School Corporation in Yorktown.
Completed work at industrial food processing facilities for Kroger Bakery and Frito Lay.
Completed a project for pharmaceutical manufacture Bayer in Windfall, Indiana.
Pete’s Classics, a classic and foreign car indoor storage facility in Indianapolis brought us back for a large metal building addition to the facility we helped them remodel back in 2018. We are very proud of our relationships with our customers and the fine folks at Pete’s were great to work with once again.
More state park work with facility additions at the Indiana Dunes State Park.
2021 saw Mammoth add over 20 playground jobs for KOMPAN, one of the best known brands of commercial playground equipment in the world, at schools, parks, and churches in Indiana and Kentucky to the portfolio of completed work.
